Three visits set for Sierra's Littlejohn

One of the top JUCO linebacker prospects in the country this year is Sierra LB Bryson Littlejohn (6-1 ,234). The playmaking linebacker has been all over the place for the Wolverines and many schools are in hot persuit for his services. spoke with Littlejohn recently and he updated us on his stats, his offers and what schools he's planning on visiting...

Littlejohn was an outstanding prep defender for Laguna Creek in Elk Grove, Ca. and he had plenty of schools interested in his services, but grades and test scores put his D-1 football career on hold and he said Sierra was the best school for him.

"There were a few reasons why I chose Sierra," Littlejohn told recently. "I liked the coaches, I liked the atmosphere and it was close to home.

"Coming here I could play with guys I had been with for year instead of going away and having to learn to play with new guys, I could stay home and just let it go out on the field because I'm so used to guys I'm out there with."

Littlejohn started every game as a freshman in 2007 and was named first team All-Valley conference for his efforts.

This season he's been a one-man wrecking crew for the Wolverine defense, notching 64 tackles, eight sacks, 13.5 tackles-for-loss, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

"I'd say my instincts and my speed help me a lot," Littlejohn said. "I play SAM (strongside linebacker) so they blitz me, they drop me into coverage and they just let me attack.

"I do everything and I feel real comfortable in our system."

On the recruiting front, schools from across the country have made it known they like what Littlejohn has to offer and he's already hauled in five offers and more could be on the way.

"I have offers from Kansas, Arizona, Boise State, Nevada and California," Littlejohn said. "Oregon's head coach (Mike Bellotti) and their defensive coordinator (Mike Allioti) both talked to me earlier this week and they told me they are going to offer me too, but that one isn't official yet.

"Arizona State, USC, Oregon State and Florida have also told me they like me a lot, but USC and Arizona State are the ones that are close to offering me."

Littlejohn said he has confirmed trips to Arizona on December 6th and Kansas on December 12th and a tentative official visit set up with Boise State on November 28th.

"Right now the one to Boise State isn't confirmed because USC wants me to come and visit them that weekend," Littlejohn said. "I just need to think about a couple of things and decide, but I plan on visiting Boise State and USC so it's just a matter of when and how that works out."

Littlejohn is on pace to sign with a team during the December signing period and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
