Offers start to pour in for Harfman

Fans don't get excited when a big-time kicker commits to their school, but kickers are a valuable weapon to have, especially in close games. This year the top kicker in the country resides in southern California and Mt. San Antonio K Jacob Harfman (5-10, 200) has the offers to prove it. Read on to see which schools he's favoring and which ones may get a visit shortly after his season ends...

Harfman has a huge leg and he's helped the Mounties post an 9-1 record this season as he was able to hit on 17 of 20 field goal attempts including a 56-yarder.

He's also an outstanding weapon on kickoffs, notching 27 touchbacks this season as well.

Schools across the country have taken notice and since our last update two weeks ago, Harfman has pulled in four offers and more could be on the way.

"Nevada, Louisville, Auburn and New Mexico all offered me recently," Harfman told JCFootball.com on Monday. "They all want me to visit after my season is over so it won't conflict with our season because we're going to the playoffs.

"After my season is over I will definitely set up visits with Nevada, New Mexico and Louisville and possibly Auburn, but I'm not sure about that one."

Harfman is also hearing from schools like USC, Texas Tech and Kansas as well.

"Right now I'm open to pretty much everyone," Harfman said. "It's all going to be about the right situation and which schools fit me best."

Harfman was a full-qualifier out of high school, so he'll likely sign in December and he'll have three years to play two once he arrives on campus for spring quarter.
