Pope now ready to focus on recruiting

He personally had a solid sophomore season, but don't tell that to Ventura WR Tim Pope (6-3, 213). However, despite his disappointment in how his team's season ended up, the playmaking wideout is now ready to focus on recruting and he's got two visits set with the two schools to offer him so far...

"I'm frustrated with how we finished the season, but I guess I had a good season," Pope told JCFootball.com recently. "It's frustrating because I think we're better than we ended up, but we just couldn't get wins."

Pope finished the season with 35 receptions for 604 yards and nine touchdowns and he's parlayed those solid numbers into two offers and interest from several D-1 schools.

"I'm visiting Tuskeegee (a D-2 program) on the Friday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28th) and then I will be at Nevada the weekend after that (Dec. 5th)," Pope said. "Several other schools have been recruiting me, but those are the two that have offered me."

In addition to Tuskeegee and Nevada, some of the other schools recruiting Pope are Oregon, Oregon State, Wyoming and Boise State.

Pope will not graduate until May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
