Herbert opens things up

He's become one of the quickest rising prospects on many BCS programs' wish lists and because of that CCSF DT Edwin Herbert (6-3.5, 295) has decided to re-open his recruiting. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented run-stuffer and he updated us on his most recent offers and which school he'll be visiting this weekend...

"I'm visiting North Carolina State this weekend with Jerrell (Harrison)," Herbert told JCFootball.com. "We're heading out there on Friday to check them out and see what's up there."

The Wolfpack offered Herbert relatively recently, but he's also pulled in offers from Arkansas and Colorado and Florida and he's planning on setting up visits with those two schools as well.

"Actually Arkansas is probably going to be my next visit, but I'm not sure when I'm going to fit that in," Herbert said. "Colorado has been calling and wants me to visit as well, but I haven't set anything up past N.C. State this weekend."

Herbert also said Kansas, Nebraska and Washington State have also been calling about setting up visits as well.

As far as his Tennessee commitment, Herbert said the Vols still have a place near the top of his list, but he wants to keep an eye on their situation before signing with them.

"I've decommitted from them, but they are still up there," Herbert said. "I want to see what happens there with the new head coach and make sure it's a place I still want to be."

Herbert is on pace to graduate in December, so he hopes to sign with a school on December 15th and then he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
