WAC visit on tap this weekend for Bellamy

One of the more dynamic playmakers in the Cali JUCO ranks this year has been Butte WR Josh Bellamy (6-2, 197) and he's set to visit a WAC school this weekend and a Pac 10 school next month. JCFootball.com caught up with the gifted wideout and he updated us on recruiting, his season and what lies ahead in the coming weeks...

Bellamy has had an outstanding season for the Road Runners, posting 50 receptions for 780 yards and 11 touchdowns while helping the lead Butte to the state championship game.

"We're right where we wanted to be when we started working out over the summer," Bellamy told JCFootball.com. "We wanted a chance at a championship and we're right there and we will play the winner of Mt. SAC and College of the Canyons this weekend."

Because Butte has the weekend off, Bellamy plans to take a trip to a WAC program that has been on him for a while.

"I'm checking out Idaho this weekend," Bellamy noted. "Then I have Arizona on January 20th and I will visit Louisville sometime next month too, but I haven't set that up yet.

"The other schools I'm probably going to visit are Marshall and Washington State, but I'm still open to looking at some other schools before I make a decision."

Bellamy is on pace to graduate in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
