Myers may sign in May

Palomar was expecting big things from RB Leilyon Myers (6-0, 230) this year, but he suffered a severely separated shoulder that caused him to miss the 2008 season. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented back and he said while he could return for another season with the Comets he might have a chance to sign with a D-1 program this year judging by the amount of interest he has been getting...

As a freshman at Palomar in 2007, Myers put up solid numbers posting 869 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns while catching eight passes for 126 yards and another score.

During fall camp Myers blew out his knee and he's been rehabbing ever since and schools are starting to show some interest even though he's not back to 100% yet.

"TCU, UTEP, Colorado State, Nevada and New Mexico are all calling me," Myers said. "They know my status and what happened and they said they really like me and would still like to bring me in."

Myers has been lifting and riding the stationary bike all fall and he hopes to start running after the holidays.

"I'm meeting with the doctors soon and they will be the ones to tell me how hard I can push myself, but things have been coming along well for me," Myers said.

If Myers signs with a team, he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
