Deleone is a Sun Devil

It's been a tense 72 hours for Orange Coast DE Dean Deleone (6-4, 260). He returned from his trip to Tempe on Sunday, unsure of where he wanted to spend the next few years of his life playing football, but after a lot of thinking and consideration, he made the decision today that he wanted to sign with Arizona State.

"After I tripped up to Oregon, I wasn't sure anything could have made me not go there," Deleone told JCFootball.com on Wednesday afternoon. "But after I went to Arizona State and saw what they had to offer and I got to meet the coaches and the players and just spend time in the program, it really made me re-think things.

"I got along really well with the D-line coach at ASU and I really liked their scheme a lot.

"Oregon was like 'we want you to play on the left side with your hand down and I could have done that, but I felt much more comfortable on the open edge and that's where ASU is going to play me instead of over the tight end like Oregon was going to."

Deleone was heading out the door to fax his letter-of-intent to Arizona State and when he arrives next month in Tempe he will have three years to play two.
