Memphis gets a good one in Quinn

Memphis got some good news last week when Mississippi Delta CB Torenzo Quinn (5-11, 180) committed and signed his letter-of-intent to play there in 2009. JCFootball.com got an update from the talented cover-man and he told us why he chose the Wildcats over several other schools.

"I went up there on December 12th and it was just the right feel," Quinn told JCFootball.com earlier this week. "They're great people up there and the coaches are really good at what they do.

"I watched their bowl game and they lost, but I think they have a lot to build on for next year and I'm excited to be a part of that."

Quinn chose Memphis over offers from Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Monore, UAB, Nichols State and Troy.

After redshirting in 2006, Quinn posted solid numbers for the Trojans in 2007 managing to haul in five interceptions while also wracking up 32 tackles and this past season he continued that solid play notching 34 tackles, three interceptions and 17 passes defensed.

Quinn will arrive on campus the first week of January and he'll have two years to play two.
