Reed plans on a busy January

Even though he put up huge numbers once again as a sophomore, Santa Rosa WR Brandyn Reed (6-3, 185) is still waiting for recruiting to pick up. He's got one offer and several other programs eyeing him, but at this point he's open to anyone that wants a talented receiver with big-play abilities.

"Things are still the same for me as far as recruiting goes," Reed told "I mean, it's a dead period right now, so no schools are really calling me and I'm just sorta waiting until (January) to start talking to schools again.

"Right now the only offer I have is from Bowling Green and their whole staff was let go, so I'm not sure where things stand with them. Other than that, I have Fresno State and Marshall looking at me."

As a freshman, Reed managed to post 33 receptions for 540 yards and 10 touchdowns while taking a backseat to Aubrey Quarles, but this season it was all Reed all the time for the Bearcubs as the sophomore rang up 61 receptions for 1,195 yards and 16 touchdowns as their number one target.

Reed said he plans to take his visits in January and he'll sign in February. Wherever he ends up he'll have three years to play two once he steps on campus.
