Schools make their move on Federico

A talented defensive tackle who can get after the quarterback as well as stuff the run is always necessary and Mt. San Antonio DT Vincent Federico (6-4, 295) has become a hot commodity of late in recruiting circles. JCFootball.com spoke with the athletic interior defensive lineman and he updated us on things including which school has come to the forefront of recruiting...

"I talked to coach (Demtrice) Martin up at Washington the other day and he said they want me to come visit soon," Federico told JCFootball.com. "I actually have a lot of schools I need to get back with since I've been gone up in the mountains for the past week or two.

"Coach Martin is a coach I'm used to and with coach (Steve) Sarkisian up there I would feel real comfortable, but I need to make sure I'm choosing the right school for me and not just following coaches that I know real well."

In addition to the the three offers he already had under his belt, Federico was recently offered by another Pac 10 school.

"Washington, Washington State and Louisville had all offered me late in my season and Arizona offered me before Christmas break," Federico said. "It's great because I have four great options right now and Baylor has been talking to me a lot, so I might have one from them soon too.

"As far as visits, I'm not really sure yet what date's I want to go and see some schools, but I'm going to hit at least three or four because I really want to check everything out, but Washington is a school that holds a lot of interest for me because of the coaches and the chance to play next year."

Federico will sign with a school in February and he'll have two years to play two once he graduates with his two-year degree in May.
