Sproal eyes trip to Tulsa

It's been a while since we've been able to catch up with Santa Ana C Eric Sproal (6-4, 300) and he's been a busy young man of late. He took a break to enjoy the holidays, but things have picked up on the recruiting front and this weekend he plans to be in Oklahoma to take in a visit to Tulsa and if things go well, he said he thinks he'll end up taking them up on their offer...

"I think it's safe to say if I have a great visit, I'll probably end up committing," Sproal told JCFootball.com on the eve of his trip to Tulsa. "They have a great program and it's really high-powered. It would be a great situation for me, but I need to make sure it's the right fit."

In addition to his offer from Tulsa, Sproal also sports offers from Nevada and New Mexico State, but he's unsure where he stands with the Aggies.

"The new coaching staff there hasn't talked to me yet," Sproal said. "Coach (Dewayne) Walker has a good reputation, but they haven't called me so I figure they aren't that interested in me anymore."

Sproal helped pave the way for a Dons' rushing attack that averaged 140 yards per game and a passing game that went for another 224 yards.

Because he signed with and enrolled at Fresno State, Sproal needs to get his AA degree under the "4-2-4" rule, but he will finish that up in May and he'll have three to play three wherever he ends up.
