Jones will visit Pac 10 schools this weekend

He's a receiver who was one of the top wideouts in the country two years ago as a senior in high school and now Compton WR Markish Jones (6-1, 195) is again at the top of a lot of recruiting wish lists. JCFootball.com caught up with the speedy wideout on the eve of his second official visit and he updated us on things including which school leads for his services at this point...

"Man, Colorado was great," Jones told JCFootball.com. "It was just a great overall visit. Everything about it was the perfect fit -- from the city, to the school, to the coaches -- it was perfect and I think it would be he perfect place for me."

While Jones said the Buffaloes are his clear leader, he's still not ready to pull the trigger and he'll visit another one of the myriad schools who have extended an offer -- Arizona State.

"I like the fact that at ASU I'll have a good opportunity to play early," Jones told DevilsDigest.com on Thursday. "Coach (Eric) Yarber was able to develop guys like Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh so there's no telling what he can do with someone like me."

As a sophomore for Compton in 2008, Jones played in seven games posting 45 receptions for over 600 yards and 10 touchdowns and he said with his 4.2 speed and route-running skills he thinks he can do it all at the next level.

"I can run past you or with my size I can be physical," Jones said matter-of-factly. "I feel like I can do it all, it's just a matter of how the (offensive coordinator) wants to use me."

Jones claims to have his academics in order reporting a 3.4 GPA and he'll finish his AA in May with three years to play two wherever he ends up.
