Watts is still waiting

He's a physical specimen and he helped lead one of the best JC defenses in the country, but Butte LB Jon Bon Watts (6-3, 235) is still waiting for an offer. JCFootball.com spoke with him recently and he updated us on things including what happened with his offer from Middle Tennessee.

"Honestly, I'm not really sure right now," Watts told JCFootball.com. "I think I just waited too long and (Middle Tennessee) filled up, so now I'm out there looking again and I've got my AA already so I want schools to know about me and that I'm open and ready to go."

Watts had a solid freshman season in 2007, posting 43 tackles, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, five sacks and one blocked kick while earning First Team All-Nor Cal honors, but in 2008 he was one of the best in California as he totaled over 70 tackles, 10 sacks, 15 tackles-for-loss and an amazing 12 passes defensed and was again named First Team All-Nor Cal as well as to the All-Region team.

"They moved me around a lot," Watts said last month. "I blitzed, I dropped back in coverage, I did everything I guess."

Besides Middle Tennesse, schools that were showing Watts interest included Washington State, Kansas and Marshall, but those schools have seemingly dropped off.

"We're working on things, but right now not a lot is going on," Watts said. "I'm patient and I know I can play. I'll just wait and see what happens."

As stated earlier, Watts already has his AA degree and wherever he ends up he'll have three years to play two once he steps on campus.
