Morgan ponders his future

Pasadena RB Josh Morgan (5-10, 210) already has one offer from an SEC school to his name, but he still may not sign on letter-of-intent day next Wednesday. caught up with the talented JUCO back and he updated us on things including which schools are close to offering...

"Kentucky is the school that's been on me for a while," Morgan told "I visited there and really liked the campus and the program a lot.

"The coaches there were all great and I got to know some of the players too. They would definitely be a great choice for me, but I'm probably going to wait a little bit."

Washington had verbally offered Morgan on Christmas eve, but this week he got a call from the coaches updating him on where things stood.

"I actually had to make up a class and Washington called and said they couldn't wait for me," Morgan said. "I'm not really sure why, because I'm taking the class and will be done in the spring, but they said they couldn't wait so now Kentucky is my only offer.

"Arizona State, California and Oregon all are on me though and they don't want me to sign. They keep calling me and they say they need to make sure I'm going to get out so I shouldn't sign with anyone until they can get a chance to look at my transcripts."

As a sophomore, Morgan had an outstanding season for Pasadena, amassing 1,102 yards on 152 carries with eight touchdowns.

"I can do whatever a team needs me to do," Morgan said. "I have 4.4 speed, so I can run off tackle and run away from guys, but I'm big, so I can run through defenders too and I run well between the tackles."

Morgan said he's currently on pace to graduate in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.

"Honestly, my coach is telling me to go to the school that wants me the most," Morgan said. "Right now, Kentucky has really showed me how much they want me. They said they will wait for me even if I can't get there until July or August, but I'm going to be done in May for sure.

"I might sign with them on signing day or I might wait, I'm not really sure right now."

We'll continue to track the news with Morgan and update things as they happen.
