Pritchett chooses the Bulldogs

In a bit of a surprise, Santa Rosa DE Donnie Pritchett (6-4, 260) chose to stay relatively close to home and sign with Fresno State over offers from several BCS schools. JCFootball.com caught up with him recently and he updated us on why he chose the Bulldogs and what it is he does best on the field...

"I committed to Fresno State," a proud Pritchett told JCFootball.com. "I think it was just the right fit for me.

"They really showed me how much they wanted me and how important I was to them and how they would use me, but Kansas didn't really do that and I felt like I was just going to be another player for them."

Pritchett was a terror for the Bear Cubs in 2008, posting 27 tackles and 3.5 sacks while earning All-Conference honors.

"I'm a player that can do both, but I think I rush the passer the best," Pritchett said. "I'm strong and I run well and I have a quick first step and that allows me to get an advantage quickly.

"Fresno State wants me at strongside end, so that's what I'll be playing for them."

Pritchett will finish his two-year degree in July and he will have three years to play two once he arrives in Fresno.
