Dixon still waiting on first offer

It happens every year -- talented players go unsigned and then are left wondering what will happen. One such player is Pasadena WR Owen Dixon (6-1, 200) who thought he might be close to hauling in some offers, but things fell through and he's still without a home. One MAC school has him schedule for an official visit this weekend and he may walk away committed if things go as planned...

"Things just haven't gone as smoothly as I would like," Dixon admitted to JCFootball.com. "I am visiting Bowling Green this coming weekend though, so that might turn into something good.

"I wouldn't mind playing out there. They play in a real competitive conference and they always play top teams in the BCS conferences. They are a place you can play against the very best out there."

Besides Bowling Green, Dixon has also spoken with several other schools.

"California, Kansas State, Arizona and Arizona State have all spoken to me since signing day," Dixon said. "I don't have anything set up with any of them and if Bowling Green offers and I like it there, I might commit to them and it will be all over."

As a sophomore in 2008, the Florida-native hauled in 59 receptions for over 900 yards and 10 touchdowns while helping to lead Pasadena to the playoffs.

He's on pace to graduate in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.

We'll have more from Dixon after his visit.
