Could good news be on the way for Hodrick?

WR Chris Matthews rightly got most of the recruiting attention for L.A. Harbor last season, but that doesn't mean he was the only Seahawks wideout worthy of D-1 attention. WR Kevin Hodrick (6-1, 200) had a solid season in 2009 and although he hasn't gotten as much attention as his highly-touted teammate, he nevertheless may be getting some good news from a Big 10 school very soon...

"I'd say I'm more of a possession receiver," Hodrick told JCFootball.com on Tuesday. "I'm not a guy who will blow by guys, but I have good speed (4.55) and I can work the middle of the field pretty well."

Hodrick used his knowledge of defenses and his precision route-running to post 38 receptions for over 600 yards and six touchdowns last season.

"With Chris there, it made things easier that's a given," Hodrick said. "He always got a lot of attention from defenses, but I still had to step up and make plays and that's what I worked hard at doing."

Even with his good hands and solid production, Hodrick still hasn't signed with a four-year school, but good news could be coming soon.

"Actually I just got back from Fed Ex," Hodrick said. "I mailed my highlight tape off to Purdue and they just got my transcripts and they are going over them to make sure everything is all set.

"Before signing day I was talking a lot to Bowling Green and Portland State, but neither one of them offered. I'm still sorta talking to them, but Purdue seems like the one that could be the closest to offering."

Hodrick is taking courses at Harbor and is on pace to finish his AA degree in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
