Tate is hearing from a few schools

Even though he led the state of California in interceptions, Yuba CB Devon Tate (6-0, 185) is still waiting on an offer. He's got several D-1 schools recruiting him right now and he said he hopes to get an offer soon. JCFootball.com caught up with the gifted DB and he talked about his season as well as what he's thinking right about now…

"I'm still sorta waiting around for things to happen," Tate told JCFootball.com. "Things have been sorta slow in regards to recruiting, but I have a few schools looking at him."

Those schools would be Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Portland State and Delaware State.

"All of them are on me right now, but nothing has been offered," Tate said. "I'm just hoping one of them likes me enough to offer me because I know they won't be disappointed with what they end up getting."

So what type of a player would one of them get should they decide to offer?

Tate used his 4.4 speed, 35-inch vertical and excellent strength and instincts to post 52 tackles, nine interceptions and 12 passes defensed.

"I feel like I can be any kind of a corner teams need," Tate said. "I can play man or zone and I am a good tackler. I like to hit and be physical and I think that sets me apart from some of the other corners out there."

Tate will finish his AA in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
