One offer already in the books for Weaver

Arizona Western OT Jason Weaver (6-5, 320) is turning out to be one of the most popular JUCO offensive line prospects in the country already. He's got an offer from a Pac 10 school and several other programs have made it known that he is a player they like and could be close to offering as well...

Weaver was a highly decorated prospect from New Orleans' Edna Karr High School, but he failed to get qualified after his prep career so he headed west to get a new beginning.

"They offered me a scholarship and I figured I could go out and see some of the other parts of the country," Weaver told "It's been cool out here. I've learned a lot and it's a place that feels like home right now."

Weaver is a physical presence on field, using his size and strength to fire off the ball.

"I've got good feet, but I really like run blocking," Weaver said. "It's all about being physical and hitting and pushing your guy down the field, that's fun stuff."

On the recruiting front, Weaver is already hearing from several D-1 programs and one has even extended an offer.

"Arizona offered me a little while ago," Weaver said. "They were waiting on some guys to commit and when one they were hoping would commit to them committed somewhere else they said I was the next guy on their board so they offered me.

"Washington, Indiana, New Mexico and Nevada are also recruiting me. They all stopped by our practices in the last week and told my coaches they liked me, but none of them have offered right now."

Weaver said he's on pace to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
