Offers flood in for Ransom

One of the most physically imposing JC wideouts in the 2010 recruiting class is Blinn WR Dexter Ransom (6-4, 217). He's a player that already has the attention of most D-1 programs in the country . At this early juncture he already has the offers to prove it and more could be on the way...

Ransom was a top prospect at Seguin High School in Texas, but was unable to qualify out of high school so he said Blinn was the most logical choice for him.

"They had just won the national championship and I wanted to be around that type of atmosphere and the coaches were great," Ransom told "I was frustrated about not qualifying, but coming here I've been able to focus on school and getting myself in the best shape possible and I'm ready for a big season this fall."

Ransom is huge and has good speed, posting a 4.5 forty time this spring.

"I can go deep or go across the middle with my size," Ransom said. "I'm probably at my best catching a pass and then running with it. I feel confident I can make plays any way a school needs me to do it."

Because the Bucs were loaded with talent at the wide receiver position last fall, Ransom only got limited reps, but he still managed to post 36 receptions for 735 yards and 10 touchdowns.

On the recruiting front, Ransom has 15 offers to his name already and more are likely on the way.

"My top eight are Oklahoma State, Arizona, Utah, Ole Miss, Baylor, Iowa State, Arkansas and Kansas," Ransom said. "Kansas State and Missouri are other schools that have offered and then Texas A&M, Oregon and Cal are all recruiting me as well."

Ransom said he plans to take his visits before he makes his decision, but he's on pace to sign with a school in December and because he redshirted in 2007 he will have two years to play two once he steps on campus.
