Allan Hancock's Suel talks recruiting

One of the more talented wideouts in the California JUCO ranks is Allan Hancock WR Marquelo Suel (6-3, 195). He's been hard at work in the classroom and has seen recruiting pick up as a result. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented receiver recently and he updated us on thing including which schools are showing him the most interest.

After finishing his standout prep career at Paul Harding High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Suel was unable to get a qualifying score on his SAT so he began to look around for a school to continue his football career.

"Some of my family and friends knew about Hancock and said it would be a good school for me to go to," Suel told JCFootball.com. "It was a place I could get a fresh start at and just focus on football and school and that's what I've been able to do."

As a freshman in 2008, Suel was solid, posting 36 receptions for 626 yards and four touchdowns and he did it from a multitude of positions.

"I can play inside or outside receiver and that's what I did last year," Suel said. "If I had to choose, I would probably say I'm a better outside receiver, just because of my speed (4.45) and stuff like that, but I can play inside or be a receiver that goes across the middle."

Recruiting has also picked up for Suel, but he has yet to receive his first offer.

"Indiana has been real big on recruiting me," Suel said. "Ball State, Iowa State, UCLA, Arizona State, Utah, Purdue and Fresno State are also showing me love too.

"I really don't care where I play ball, I just want the chance to play so I'm mainly looking for playing time and to be comfortable wherever I sign."

Suel has really picked it up in the classroom and he expects to finish his AA degree in May of 2010 and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
