Recruiting picks up for Ellsworth QB

Ellsworth QB Tirrell Rennie (5-11, 190) is one of the nation's premier JUCO dual-threat signal-callers, but he's still waiting on his first offer. JCFootball.com got an updated from the talented quarterback recently and he updated us on what's new with recruiting...

"We had a bunch of schools come out to watch us this spring," Rennie told JCFootball.com. "Schools like Ohio, Illinois, Northern Iowa and Iowa State have all talked to me and sent me some letters after seeing us.

"They all liked what I had to offer, but they haven't offered me yet."

As a freshman in 2008, the athletic signal-caller led the nation in total offense while receiving Honorable Mention All-American honors after throwing for over 2,700 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while running for over 1,100 yards and 18 more touchdowns.

"I'm a guy who does most of his damage on the run," Rennie said. "I can throw it from the pocket, but I like to get out on the edge and be a threat with my arm or my legs.

"When you have a receiver like Quintin Robinson it makes things a lot easier for you and we have a good line too so that helps me out a lot."

Rennie is finishing up his summer coursework and is on pace to finish up in December and wherever he signs he will have three years to play two once he steps on campus.
