2003 JCFootball.com Combines (3rd Annual)

Get ready for the 3rd Annual JCFootball.com combines, which are coming this spring. There were over 550 participants last year and we expect another great turnout this year. Over 100 different coaches from four-year universities and colleges were in attendance, with some traveling to all four combines.

Locations: For the third year in a row our SoCal event will be held at Santa Ana College, which is easy to access and near so many of SoCal's community colleges.

This year the NorCal combine will be held at San Jose State University. JCFootball.com has developed a relationship with SJSU over the past three years and this move allows us to offer excellent facilities plus other amenities we haven't had in the past.

Our 2nd Annual WSFL (Arizona) combine will be held at Scottsdale CC.

Dates: All combines will be on Saturdays.
SoCal - May 3
WSFL/Arizona - May 10
NorCal - May 17 (date changed from the 10th)

Eligibility: To attend athletes must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be entering their sophomore season in the fall of 2003 OR be a sophomore who was a starter for his team in 2002 and whose eligibility has expired in 2002 but is still awaiting a scholarship offer.

Get scouted, increase your learning, and have fun!

Event Time: In the past, registration has begun at 8:30am. and testing from 10:00am- 4:00pm.

Agenda: The combine will begin with check-in, photo, weight and height measurement. The athlete will then receive a number to wear for identification purposes.

Coaches: Some of the top community colleges in each area will be working with participants. If you're interested in helping, please contact JCFootball.com.

Friday Night Coaches Clinic: Last year Steve DaPrato of Chabot College put on a coaches clinic the Friday night prior to the NorCal combine. *This year's clinic, geared towards high school coaches, will be on Friday, May 16 at San Jose State. Spartans head coach Fitz Hill will be one of four featured speakers (others TBA). For information, e-mail kevin@jcfootball.com.

The following tests will be given:

  • 40-yard dash
  • Shuttle Run
  • Bench Press (Maximum repetitions at 185 lbs. for QB/WR/RB/DB  and 225 for OL/DL/LB/TE)
  • Vertical Jump

It's important to note that participants are NOT required to take all of the tests and that one's results can be 'scratched', which means they won't be distributed in the final combine reports.
