Big sophomore season approaches for Gauld

One of the more physically dominant offensive lineman in the SoCal JUCO ranks this year is Allan Hancock OT Riley Gauld (6-5, 290) and with camp underway he's focused on having a big sophomore season. JCFootball.com caught up with the gifted lineman and he updated us on things...

The Bulldogs just reported for camp relatively recently and he said contact is getting ready to be had.

"We started hitting and it just gets you back and focused on things," Gauld said. "It lets you know 'Alright, we're getting started'. It feels great to get the season underway. We start off against Santa Barbara on September 5th so it's real close to getting started and I want to have a big season."

On the recruiting front, schools from across the country have let Gauld know he's on their list of players to watch, but he's still waiting on that first offer.

"I'm not really hearing anything new right now," Gauld told JCFootball.com. "No new schools have really made contact and honestly, I'm just focused on school and getting ready for my season."

Tennessee had made the most contact with Riley, but schools like Idaho, New Mexico State, Utah State, UNLV, Nevada, Arizona, Arizona State and Hawaii has also sent him information.

Gauld is on pace to graduate this December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
