Palomar's Young talks recruiting

Palomar CB Anthony Young (5-9, 172) isn't the biggest corner prospect out there, but don't be fooled by his size. He plays much bigger and more physical than his stature might suggest and he's already off to a fast start this season with a big game in Palomar's 55-0 route of Southwestern last weekend. caught up with the talented DB and he updated us on things...

"We got off to the right start last week," Young told "We won big, we played real physical and I got to go up against one of the top JC receivers in the country (George Bell) at different times in the game.

"I had five tackles, three passes broken up and I also recovered a fumble as well."

Young is a player who isn't very big, but he still plays more physical than most players out there.

"I take pride in being physical," Young said. "I love to play man-to-man and let the receiver know it's going to be a long day for them.

"I feel like I can match up against anyone and make plays, so it's something I feel like I have to go out and prove every week."

On the recruiting front, Young still claims four offers and has one official visit set up, but several BCS programs have also been requesting film of the talented DB.

"I still have the offers from Tulsa, Colorado State, Nevada and Utah State and I'm visiting Tulsa on November 13th," Young said. "South Florida has really picked things up with me and they wanted film, so we're putting that together and getting ready to mail that out.

"Oregon, Arizona and Washington are also talking to me and asking for film, so I've got some more schools interested in me, but they haven't offered yet obviously."

Young is on pace to graduate with his two-year degree in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
