A visit could be in the works for Alexander

He's the starting right tackle on one of the top JUCO programs in the country and College of the Canyons OT Louiszell Alexander (6-5, 315) has been getting the recruiting attention commensurate with his abilities. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented offensive lineman and he updated us on things including which ACC school could be offering in the very near future...

The Bakersfield, California native already had an offer from Oregon and was getting recruiting attention from other schools in the Pac 10, but it's a top 25 ACC program that has piqued his interest lately.

"Miami has really been on me heavily recently," Alexander told JCFootball.com. "They said they really want me to come out and visit them and that they could be offering me pretty soon.

"I'm talking with the coaches there a little bit later this week and I'll probably set up a visit with them. They wanted to check out my transcripts and just make sure everything was okay academically and then they said they will talk to me about setting up a visit.

"I won't say that I'll commit right away if they offer, but if they do they will definitely jump to the top of my list."

Besides the Ducks and Hurricanes, Alexander said he continues to hear from UCLA, Washington, Arizona State and Iowa State among others.

This past weekend, Alexander and his teammates took on Fullerton and won 26-13 in what was termed as one of the most physical games of the season by many who watched.

"That game was brutal," Alexander said. "They are a real physical team and we upped our game for them. We all played real hard and kept this thing going.

Alexander and the 3-1 Cougars now prepare to face off against Allan Hancock this coming Saturday at home.

We'll continue to keep track of Alexander's progress and update things as they happen.
