Hancock's Gauld hauls in first offer

He's been patiently waiting for his first offer and recently, Allan Hancock OT Riley Gauld (6-5, 285) was rewarded with his first D-1 scholarship offer. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented offensive line prospect and he updated us on things as well as when he may visit them...

Gauld plays left tackle for the 5-1 Bulldogs and has helped lead the way for an offense that is putting up nearly 400 yards and 31 points per game.

"This has been a really fun season," Gauld told JCFootball.com recently. "We worked really hard this past summer and it's paid off so far, but we're not satisfied. We beat some really big programs so far in Reedley and Canyons, but we have to keep it going."

Gauld has been patient this year, waiting for that all-important first offer and recently a Mountain West school showed him they were serious about acquiring his services.

"San Diego State called me and said they were offering," Gauld said excitedly. "They really want me and like what I can do. They wanted me to visit soon, but we just haven't set it up. It's a relief to get the offer, but I'm really focused on our season so I'm not really sure when I will visit. It could happen after our season, I'm not really sure right now."

In addition to the offer from the Aztecs, Gauld continues to hear from schools like Tennessee, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico State, Arizona, Arizona State and UNLV as well.

This weekend Gauld and his Hancock teammates takes on Pasadena at home.
