Dupage's Trulon Henry stays focused

College of DuPage S Trulon Henry (6-1, 225) is one of the most dominant defenders in JUCO football this year and he's helped lead his team to a 5-4 record. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented defensive back and he updated us on things including which schools he's hearing from and what his plans are following the season...

"Right now things are going well for me," Henry said. "Our team has been sorta up-and-down at times, but we're playing pretty well. I've had a good season personally and we're getting ready for a playoff run coming up."

Last season, Henry posted 96 tackles and one interception while playing football for the first time in four years and this season he's followed that up with 70 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries, both of which he returned for touchdowns.

Schools from across the country are looking at bringing him on, but none have offered at this point.

"I'm still hearing from the same schools basically," Henry said. "Oregon, Arizona, Kansas State, Illinois and Northern Iowa have all been recruiting me and wanting me to set up a visit.

"It's about 50-50 on whether they want me to stay at safety or to come in as a linebacker to play the WIL position."

Henry said while all of them want him to visit, he won't be doing anything until after his season is completed.

"I'm focused completely on football and school right now," Henry said. "I'm definitely going to visit some of them, but it won't be until after we finish which will probably be in mid-November at some point.

"I'm only going to take three visits and I really haven't decided which three I'll see, but once I go there they've all said they want to meet me and talk to me to make sure what type of a person they are getting and then I will probably get an offer on my visit."

Henry is on pace to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.

He and his Chapparal teammates will take on Joliet this Saturday in their final regular season game.
