Weaver continues the recruiting process

Arizona Western OT Jason Weaver (6-5, 320) is a player that has seen recruiting explode since the start of the season. He already had offers from Arizona and Miami and two weeks ago he was supposed to be in Norman to visit Oklahoma. Where do things stand for the big JUCO offensive lineman? Read on the find out...

"I didn't make the trip to Oklahoma," Weaver told JCFootball.com. "I had to reschedule because of some conflicts, so I'm going to head out there, but probably after the season. I'm not really sure when."

Weaver continues to hear from a score of schools including the two BCS schools he's pulled in offers from -- Arizona and Miami.

"I talk to both of them all the time," Weaver said. "They both want me to set up visits and say they really like the way I play and what I can bring to the table as far as my blocking and intensity are concerned."

Also in the mix is Washington who Weaver said has been in contact with him since the spring.

"I talk to coach (Dan) Cozzetto a lot," Weaver said. "He's a good coach, he's been around a long time, so he knows how to get it done. I really like him a lot and he said they are looking for at least one JC offensive lineman and maybe two."

Arizona Western lost their first game of the season last weekend when they fell 40-33 to New Mexico Military so this weekend they hope to rebound against Pima.

"We had a tough game last week, but we'll be fine," Weaver said. "We're talented and we can put up points. We'll be fine."

Weaver will sign with a team in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
