Hayes just keeps moving the chains for Blinn

One of the top JUCO backs in the country is Blinn RB Michael Hayes (5-9, 195) and he's got three offers to his name with other BCS schools sniffing around. JCFootball.com caught up with the elusing playmaker and he updated us on things including where recruiting stands at this point...

"Things are pretty much the same on (the recruiting) front," Hayes told JCFootball.com over the weekend. "Basically it's Kansas, Kansas State and Southern Miss who have offered me and then Oregon and a couple of other schools have said they are interested in me, but they haven't offered yet."

Hayes mentioned that California, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Utah have also been showing interest.

"Right now I'm not real focused on recruiting as much as I am our season," Hayes noted. "I mean, yeah it's real important for my future and stuff, but I can worry about that after we finish up. Schools have told me they will wait on my decision.

"I'm going to take trips to at least Kansas State and Kansas and I will probably visit Southern Miss and after that if no one else has offered, then I will just worry about who has."

So far this season, Hayes has helped lead the Buccaneers to an 8-1 record, helping them to score nearly 54 points per game.

"I've had a good season, we're pretty talented though so you have to be ready to give up touches because of all the talent we have," Hayes said.

Even though he's sharing touches and carries, he still leads Blinn with 655 yards and is second with 10 touchdowns while also hauling in 22 receptions for 300 yards and another touchdown.

"They use me in a bunch of different ways," Hayes noted. "They will put me in motion, use me as a receiver out of the backfield, get me on options and pitches. I run inside well, but I like getting in space and making guys miss."

Hayes is on pace to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
