Palomar S Chris Boudreaux talks recruiting

He's the leader of one of the top JUCO defenses in the country and Palomar S Chris Boudreaux (6-0, 197) has seen the recruiting interest spike in recent weeks. caught up with the gifted defensive back recently and he updated us on things...

"Things are going real good, we're playing well and I'm having a good season personally," Boudreaux told "I'm just playing ball and recruiting is sorta taking care of itself."

Boudreaux, who leads the Comets with 49 tackles, nine passes defenses and two blocked kicks, has three offers to his name and more could be on the way.

"Middle Tennessee, Nevada and Tulsa have all offered me," Boudreaux said. "I'm visiting Tulsa on November 13th and I'm planning to visit Nevada after we get through the playoffs."

Besides those three offers two BCS schools have also expressed interest.

"Kansas has been talking to me a lot lately and I just heard from my coaches that Washington has called and asked for my transcripts," Boudreaux said. "They are recruiting my teammate (Anthony Young) and I guess they told our DB coach (Greg Taylor) they like me and they are looking at me pretty closely."

Last year as a freshman, Boudreaux had 60 tackles, one interception and double-digit passes defensed while playing almost anywhere in the secondary.

"I can play anywhere, but I love playing free safety," Boudreaux told this past summer. "I can see the field and make a play on the ball when it's in the air. With my speed (4.4) and my instincts I feel I can get it down anywhere."

This weekend the 10th-ranked Comets take on 12th ranked Fullerton at home in a big SCFA matchup.
