Ogbonna commits to Wyoming

Last weekend, Snow WR Mazi Ogbonna (6-1, 190) visited Wyoming and by the end when it was time for him to head home he made a decision. JCFootball.com got a call from the talented wideout on Monday afternoon and he gave us the news that he is now a Cowboy.

"I committed to the coach that was recruiting me (Mike Fanoga) because all the coaches had left," Ogbonna told JCFootball.com. "He was really excited and said the whole staff was really excited to have me be a part of what they have going on there."

Wyoming was Ogbonna's only offer, but he was hearing a lot from Utah, Utah State and Rutgers which is the school that is near where he grew up.

However, even with that interest, Ogbonna said he's happy to be a Cowboy.

"The program they have going there now is really impressive," Ogbonna said. "I really enjoyed the coaches and the players and getting to see the school.

"Their offense fits me perfectly because it's that wide-open attack that I love. My parents and the rest of my family are really excited about me going there."

As a freshman in 2008, Ogbonna posted 18 receptions for 324 yards and four touchdowns as he got used to the college game and this season he leads the team in receptions (32), yards (678) and is second in touchdowns with eight.

"I'm more of a deep threat, but I can run good routes and make plays inside or down the field," Ogbonna said. "This season I worked a lot on my body control and running my routes. I also worked on my speed a lot too."

Snow (9-1) had a bye this past weekend and will take on Arizona Western on Saturday in a rematch with the only team to beat the Badgers this season.
