A Big 12 school gets into the mix for Weaver

Arizona Western OT Jason Weaver (6-5, 320) has become one of the hottest commodities for D-1 programs over the past few months and now that he's got a couple of weeks off before the Matadors play in their bowl game he's going to be setting up some visits to check out the schools who are after him the most.

"We just won our conference this weekend," Weaver told JCFootball.com, referring to Arizona Western's big 30-17 win over Snow on Saturday. "Now that I've got a couple of weeks off, I can visit some schools and I'm planning to set them up with Miami and Kansas State, but I have to talk to them about when and which weekend is best."

Weaver saw his recruiting stock shoot up after the start of his season and has offers from Arizona, Oklahoma, the Hurricanes and the Wildcats and recently another Big 12 school got involved.

"I'm not sure if they've offered or not, but Nebraska has really been talking to my coaches a lot about me I guess," Weaver said. "They have asked my coaches for my film and my transcripts, but I haven't personally spoken to them, so I don't know how serious they are about me."

Weaver has the athleticism to play tackle or guard at the next level and said he plans to take all of his visits and then will sign with a school in December. Wherever he ends up he'll have three years to play two once he steps on campus.
