More offers come in for Pierce CB

L.A. Pierce CB Brandon Turner (6-1, 185) had an outstaning sophomore campaign this fall and he's got several D-1 programs interested in what he brings to the table. caught up with the talented defensive back and he updated us on things...

"Things have been going good," Turner told shortly after he finished a workout. "I'm just working on my conditioning and strength and I'm going to be taking some visits next month to check out a few schools."

Turner had planned to visit Wyoming on November 27th and Georgia State on December 5th, but both of those fell through.

"I was in the state playoffs when I was supposed to visit Wyoming and I played in an All-Star game instead of visiting Georgia State," Turner said. "I'm still looking at visiting Wyoming, but I don't think I'm going to visit Georgia State.

"Western Kentucky just offered me yesterday and they want to check out my transcripts before they trip me out there, but I'll probably visit them next month.

"Temple is another school I'll probably visit. They also want to check out my transcripts and they want to get me out there for a visit before they offer me. I don't think that will be a problem and my cousin is DeSean Jackson and he plays for the Philadelphia Eagles so I'm really interested in that school too."

Besides his offers from Wyoming and Western Kentucky and his heavy interest in Temple, Turner said he's also hearing a lot from schools like Utah State, Arizona State, New Mexico State and UTEP.

"All of those schools want to evaluate me a littl more, but they all like me," Turner said.

This season, Turner was solid, posting 55 tackles, five interceptions and three forced fumbles from his corner position and his efforts resulted in first team All-Conference honors as well first team All-State recognition.

"I can play physical, man-to-man defense or I can play zone because I have good anticipation and I can break well on the ball," Turner told in November. "I have good speed (4.5), but one thing I've really worked on his my hips and turning and running better. I already did it pretty well, but I wanted to get even better at that."

Turner will sign with a school in February and will have two years to play two wherever he ends up.
