Arizona Western runner gets early attention

One of the most dynamic JUCO running backs in the country last year was Arizona Western's Reggie Bullock (5-9, 175) and he's already getting a lot of attention from four-year schools during the early recruiting period. JCFootball.com spoke with the talented prospect and he updated us on things including which schools could be close to offering...

"I've been talking to a few schools so far," Bullock told JCFootball.com over the weekend. "I've talked to Illinois, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Alabama, Kansas State, Wisconsin and San Diego State so far.

"Oregon State and Oklahoma State told me they really like me a lot and that they want to get a look at me during spring ball before they make an offer, but they are pretty close to doing it."

With his size and explosiveness, Bullock said the Oregon State coaches have told him that he reminds them of a back they currently have on their roster.

"They said I run a lot like Jacquizz Rodgers," Bullock said humbly. "They said they like my speed and my vision and that they think I could do a lot of things like he's done there."

As a prep, Bullock was a highly-recruited player out of Las Vegas (Nv.) High School.

"I was hearing a lot from Florida, Alabama, UCLA, Rutgers, Clemson, New Mexico, Colorado and a bunch of other schools," Bullock recalled. "None of them offered me though because I was struggling to qualify and then when I didn't qualify, I headed to Arizona Western because of my relationship with the coaches here and the program they have here."

As a freshman last fall, Bullock started all but two games for Arizona Western and posted over 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns on his way to All-Conference and All-American honors.

"I have good speed (4.4) and I like to bust things outside when I can," Bullock said. "But I run inside pretty well and I feel like I can do whatever a school wants me to do."

Also working in Bullock's favor is the fact that he has soft hands and hauled in 14 passes for nearly 140 yards and a touchdown as well.

"That's one thing I'd like to do more of, but it just depends on when they call my number," Bullock said.

The talented runner has been hard at work getting his academics in order and will be able to sign with a school in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
