Fahrenkrug is a top D-1 prospect

If offers are any indication of the quality of a prospect, then you'd have to put NDSCS OL Jacob Fahrenkrug (6-4, 315) right at the top of the rankings. The talented offensive line prospect already has 10 offers from schools across the country and several more could be close to throwing their hats in the ring as well...

Fahrenkrug was a standout prep in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, but was unable to qualify, so he decided to head to North Dakota College of Science to continue his football career.

"I probably could have gone other places, but I knew coach (Mike) Shafer from him recruiting me and I just felt comfortable moving here," Fahrenkrug told JCFootball.com recently. "I liked their program here and the offense they run and I felt like it was a school I could do well at and move on."

As a freshman in 2009, Fahrenkrug started at right guard for the Wildcats and because of his outstanding size and athelticism, he's already seen 10 offers roll in and more could be on the way.

"Right now I have offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Arkansas, Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and Illinois," Fahrenkrug said. "My coaches said a bunch of other schools are recruiting me, but those are the ones I know about right now.

"All of the offers are flattering to me, but I want to go through things and just take my time. I'm not really in a hurry to make a decision."

Fahrenkrug's coaches confirmed that Auburn, USC, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Michigan State have all shown interest in what their top prospect can do as well.

As far as finishing his AA degree, Fahrenkrug is on pace to be done in December with three years to play two wherever he ends up.

We'll continue to track his progress and update news as it happens.
