First two offers come in for Wright

It's been nearly two months since we have been able to catch up with Butte DT Ronnell Wright (6-3, 275) and recruiting has really picked up over that time. Wright now has two offers from Sun Belt schools and he's seen schools from BCS conferences also show him interest as well. JCFootball.com got an update over the holiday weekend about where things stand…

"I got offers from North Texas and Arkansas State right now," Wright told JCFootball.com. "Arkansas State has already come and I talked to North Texas (Monday) and they said the offer and paperwork are on the way.

"(North Texas) coach (Mike) Nelson told me of the 100 guys they are looking at, I'm number one on their list, so they want me pretty bad."

In addition to those two Sun Belt teams, Wright said he's getting some heavy interest from Oklahoma State, SMU, UCLA, California, Washington State, Texas A&M, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee and Georgia.

"Oklahoma State seems to really like me a lot," Wright said. "I talked to their coaches a lot and they said they think I could be really good in their system.

"Washington State likes me a lot too. Coach (Malik) Roberson said he really wants me to come up and play next to (Steven Hoffart) really bad. I was telling him how I might set up an official visit with Oklahoma State for the same weekend that they host the Cougars and he was like ‘hey, don't go to see them, you should go to see us'."

Wright is an impressive athlete for his size, posting a 4.8 forty time this spring will also hoisting up 525 pounds on the squat and 345 pounds on the bench.

The talented lineman is on pace to finish his AA in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
