Denham planning official visit to Washington

East Los Angeles WR Anthony Denham (6-6, 215) has seen recruiting steadily increase since February and he continues to be one of the top playmakers at receiver available this year. JCFootball.com spoke with the dynamic wideout recently and he updated us on things…

"I have six offers right now and a bunch more that could be offering soon," Denham told JCFootball.com. "I have offers from Minnesota, San Diego State, Idaho, Utah, Washington and Wyoming and Oregon said they are real close to offering me, USC is looking at me, Cal stopped by and told me they would be offering me soon and LSU sorta did too."

Washington was the first school to offer Denham, a big, physical wideout who posted huge numbers for ELAC last season – 49 receptions for 1,189 yards and 16 touchdowns – and he said that makes them a school right in the thick of things.

"I'm working on setting up a visit with (Washington) for their game against UCLA in November," Denham noted. "I haven't talked with any of the coaches up there since May, but I'm going to try them soon. I just haven't had any minutes to call them, but I'm going to soon because I want to firm up the date they want me up there."

Denham said he hopes to take all five visits before he commits to a school and wants to sign in December, although he has to pass several classes this summer to ensure that happens. Wherever he ends up he'll have three years to play two following the 2010 football season.

We'll continue to check in with Denham in the coming weeks and update things as they change.
