White shows patience

A JUCO player who promises to be one of the most explosive playmakers in the country is Los Angeles Harbor RB John White (5-9, 190). The Seahawks use him in a number of ways and last season he was practically unstoppable, but schools are waiting to see how he does academically before stepping forward with an offer, so he's relegated to showing patience...

White lead his team with 1,036 yards on 164 carries and 18 touchdowns while also hauling in 47 receptions for 470 yards and five more touchdowns. He also was a deadly kick returner, averaging 26.2 yards per return including two for touchdowns and helped lead the Seahawks to a 9-2 record and they ended the season ranked ninth in the state of California.

"I feel like I can help in anyway a team needs me," White said. "With my speed (4.28), my team likes to get me on the edge with the ball in my hands, but I can run between the tackles just fine too."

Schools like Oregon, Washington State, Arizona, UNLV, Arkansas State and Hawaii have all been in contact with White, but all are taking a "wait and see" approach with him.

"I have talked to all of them, but they all want to see my grades and my transcripts this summer before they offer," White said. "I am just working hard and doing my work in the classroom and I'll let that all do my talking."

White is on track to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
