NDSCS WR ready for a big 2010 season

He had a solid freshman season last fall and NDSCS WR Cecil Doe (6-3, 210) hopes the 2010 campaign is even better. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented wideout and he updated us on how recruiting is coming along and what his goals are for the upcoming season...

Doe prepped at Wayzata (Plymouth, Mn.) High School and wasn't really recruited much even though he possesses the ideal size and athleticism schools are looking for at the wideout position.

"I wasn't going to qualify, so schools really didn't look at me much," Doe admitted to JCFootball.com. "The coaches here talked to me about getting me ready to move on to the next level and said they throw the ball alot, so I came down here and I really think it was the best thing I could have done.

"Coming here has really helped me focus on the things that are important. When I was in high school I didn't really take school seriously, but now I'm more disciplined and focused on what is the most important -- school and football."

That focus helped Doe have a huge freshman season -- over 30 catches for nearly 700 yards receiving and six touchdowns -- and he said he has the expectation of an even bigger 2010 campaign.

"I'm an all-around wide receiver," Doe said. "When I got here, I probably used my body more and my size to be physical and I can still do that, but my speed has really improved a lot and now I can get down the field a lot more.

"I ran a 4.4 this spring and that will help me much more this fall."

Because of his ideal size and speed, Doe already has offers from Hawaii and Western Michigan and said heavy interest is coming from Wisconsin and Wyoming as well.

"I wan to take all my visits before I make a decision," Doe said. "I want to see the schools and meet with the coaches and then I'll sit down and weigh all my options and make the best decision for me."

Doe is on pace to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
