Harbor's White talks recruiting

He's one of the most dynamic backs in the California JUCO ranks and offers are starting to come in for L.A. Harbor RB John White (5-9, 185). Recently he received some positive news -- his first three offers -- and he plans to visit one of those schools in October...

"I've got offers from Kentucky, Washington State and Houston," White told JCFootball.com. "Kentucky and Washington State had both been saying they were offering me, but they hadn't sent the paperwork yet. I finally got it a little while ago and then Houston offered me pretty much at the same time.

"I'm visiting Kentucky when they play Auburn (October 9th), so that's my first official visit and I'm working on a plan to set up some more after that."

White said while he was very excited to get his first three offers, he is not close to making a decision.

"I'm not making my commitment until I take my visits and finish my season," White said. "I'll sit down and weigh all of my options and then see where things shake out."

As a freshman last fall, White lead his team with 1,036 yards on 164 carries and 18 touchdowns while also hauling in 47 receptions for 470 yards and five more touchdowns.

He also was a deadly kick returner, averaging 26.2 yards per return including two for touchdowns and helped lead the Seahawks to a 9-2 record ending the season ranked ninth in the state of California.

"I feel like I can help in anyway a team needs me," White said. "With my speed (4.28), my team likes to get me on the edge with the ball in my hands, but I can run between the tackles just fine too."

White is on track to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
