More offers come in for Cerritos OT

Cerritos OT Fou Fonoti (6-5, 305) got some great news over the past couple of weeks as two more schools sent him written offers and two more let it be known they like what they've seen on film. spoke to the talented offensive line prospect and got the scoop on the new schools recruiting him as well as the new offers...

"New Mexico had told me a while ago that they were going to offer me, but I hadn't gotten anything and then a couple of weeks ago, I finally got it in the mail," Fonoti told recently. "Washington State called and got my address and they sent theirs last week and I got it Thursday, so right now I have four official offers including Arizona and Florida International.

"Auburn and Houston are the new schools recruiting me and said they like me a lot. They could both be close to offering me, but right now they haven't."

In addition to those schools, Fonoti said USC, Louisville, BYU and Iowa State have remained in contact as well.

"I'm just trying to stay humble and I realize this is just the start of things," Fonoti said. "I wanted to play D-1 football and right now, I have that opportunity, but I need to keep working and stay focused on what I need to do on the field in order to live up to those expectations."

Last year, Fonoti held down the right tackle spot for the Falcons, but this spring he was moved to the right side to replace a former teammate who has graduated.

"It's been a little strange because the footwork is different, but I think I'll be good," Fonoti admitted. "I'm just working on it all the time and I think I'll be just fine. My coaches said it will come."

Fonoti is on pace to finish up his AA in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
