Co-Lin's Coleman talks recruiting and visits

It's been nearly three months since last we spoke with Copiah-Lincoln DE Terrance Coleman (6-1.5, 247) and things have been pretty crazy for the talented defensive end since the end of spring fooball...

"Right now I've got six offers," Coleman told recently. "The five I can remember are from Texas Tech, Tennessee, Tulsa, Memphis and Kentucky and I know I have another one, but I can't think of it right now.

"All of the other schools recruiting me are still in the mix though. Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State, Baylor and a bunch of other schools all said they like me, but want to see more of me this fall."

Playing strictly as a defensive end for the Bobcats, Coleman posted 37 tackles, 10 sacks and 14 tackles-for-loss for a team that went 6-3 last fall.

"I mainly played with my hand down," Coleman said. "I didn't really rush from a stand-up position, but I'd like to try it a little and see how it goes.

"I mean, rushing the quarterback is what I do best and to me, if you can rush the quarterback you can do it with your hand down or standing up."

This summer, Coleman said he's been hitting the weights hard.

"I'm lifting every day practically and running every day," Coleman said. "I want to be ready to go when we get going and throw the pads on.

"I've been working on different moves and my first step. I want it to be explosive, so that's been a big focus for me."

Coleman signed with Auburn out of high school, but was unable to qualify. However, he is on pace to be able to sign with a school in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
