Williams prepares for 2010 season at Hutch

It's been a while since we last checked in on Hutchinson DE Meshak Williams (6-4, 245), but not a lot has changed for the talented pass-rusher. He still remains committed to Kansas State and said recently he's getting ready for the 2010 season which begins shortly when the Blue Dragons report for fall camp...

"Things have been going good," Williams told JCFootball.com recently. "I've just been working out with my team and individually getting ready for the season. We start camp on Monday, so it's getting close and I can't believe it's going to be football season pretty soon.

"I can't wait."

Williams is an outstanding pass-rusher, posting 12 sacks, 67 tackles and 19 tackles-for-loss from his weakside defensive end position as a freshman last fall.

"I've been working on my footwork and my moves this summer," Williams said. "You always have to be working to improve because they guys you're going to face every week are working on their games too."

Williams was a standout prep at Worth County High School in Sylvester, Georgia and after some careful consideration of a lot of offers, he decided Kansas State was the school for him.

"Early on, I thought I would only go to a big-time football program, like a nationally known one," Williams told JCFootball.com. "Then I visited Kansas State and it was just the perfect fit for me.

"The coaches were great, they really cared about the players and the program there plays big-time football. I really liked their defense and how aggressive they play. It was the right choice for me."

After failing to qualify, Kansas State placed Williams at Hutchinson, allowing him to focus on school and football and the ability to get ready for January of 2011 when he will arrive in Manhattan (Ks.).

"I'm pretty sure I have a lot of offers right now, but I don't talk to any schools," Williams said. "When I sit down and talk to the coaches, I'll find out which schools have offered, but I'm a Kansas State Wildcat and that's where I plan on going after I finish up here in December."

Williams will have three years to play two following the season.
