Denham talks recruiting

Entering the 2010 season, East LA WR Anthony Denham (6-6, 215) is the top JUCO wideout in the country and he has the offers to prove it. caught up with the talented sophomore recently and he updated us on things including which schools have extended offers as well as which ones are likely to get a visit...

"Things have been going good, I'm just ready for the season right now," Denham told "Me and my team, we feel like we're going to be explosive and we get started next week when we play L.A. Valley on September 4th."

As a freshman last fall, Denham posted 49 receptions for 1,189 yards and 16 touchdowns while helping lead the Huskies to a 5-5 record. He said this year, he is expecting more.

"Most definitely from an individual standpoint, I'm expecting to have a bigger season and as a team, we're going to be tough this year," Denham said. "One of the reasons I came here was so I could help East LA establish something and I feel like we're right there with doing that."

On the recruiting front, Denham has eight offers offers -- Minnesota, San Diego State, Idaho, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Nebraska and Georgia -- and more could be on the way.

"Alabama and USC are really interested in me and so is LSU," Denham said. "I'm getting a lot of letters from a bunch of different schools right now, so there are a lot of schools interested and I'm just letting them talk to me right now."

As far as visits are concerned, Denham maintains Washington will get a visit and plans to set his trip there for their game on November 18th against UCLA, while Oregon, Utah, Alabama and Georgia also are schools he's interested in seeing.

"I want to take all those visits and then think about things and decide," Denham said. "I'm still interested in a lot of schools, so I need to see them all before I can make my decision."

Denham is on pace to finish his AA in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
