Top 10: Screen Warriors

We ranked 10 of the baddest warriors in movie history

10. Perseus

Film: Clash of the Titans (1981)

Portrayed by: Harry Hamlin

Weapon of choice: Lightning sword (blessed by Zeus)

Skinny: Blessed by Olympian god, he rides a flying horse and stabs giant scorpions; not to mention hunts down and slays a freaking Gorgon. Not a guy to mess with, despite the dainty outfit.

Best line: "Nothing is invulnerable."

9. Lt. Aldo Raine

Film: Inglorious Basterds (2009)

Portrayed by: Brad Pitt

Weapon of choice: Karabiner 98k

Skinny: Leads a team of Jewish-American soldiers on a Nazi-hunting mission in the heart of Berlin to dispatch Hitler and his top henchmen, including an evil SS colonel.

Best line: "Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps."

8. Spartacus

Film: Spartacus (1960)

Portrayed by: Kirk Douglas

Weapon of choice: sword

Skinny: A taut, well-oiled slave who leads a bloody rebellion against a decadent Roman Republic.

7. Maj. Alan "Dutch" Schaefer

Film: Predator

Portrayed by: Arnold Schwarzenegger

Weapon of choice: AR-15/SP1 slab-side M16 rifle (with grenade launcher)

Skinny: After his team of elite commandos is gutted (literally) by an alien on a hunting trip to Earth, Schaefer goes toe-to-toe with the extra-terrestrial warrior, who employs infrared vision, light-bending camouflage, and a shoulder-mounted plasma gun with a laser sight.

Best line: "Get to da choppa!"

6. Lee

Film: Enter the Dragon (1973)

Portrayed by: Bruce Lee

Weapon of choice: Fists

Skinny: An ass-kicking martial artist is tapped by a secret agency to enter a deadly tournament in hopes of taking down an opium dealer.

Best line: "A good fight should be like a small play, but played seriously."

5. King Leonidas

Film: 300 (2006)

Portrayed by: Gerard Butler

Weapon of choice: short sword

Skinny: Did you see those abs? ‘Nuff said.

Best line: "This is Sparta!"

4. John Rambo

Film: First Blood (1982 - we'll not mention the other ones)

Portrayed by: Sylvester Stallone

Weapon of choice: His trusty knife and then later, an M-60

Skinny: A Vietnam vet and Medal of Honor recipient single-handedly dismantles a team of jumpy deputies after an A-hole sheriff pushes him too far.

Best line: "Don't push it. Don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe."

3. Maximus

Film: Gladiator (2000)

Portrayed by: Russell Crowe

Weapon of choice: Sword

Skinny: Betrayed former Roman general left for dead who's forced to fight for his life in the Colosseum. Oh yeah, his family was slaughtered and he is out for blood.

Best line: "I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

2. William Wallace

Film: Braveheart (1995)

Portrayed by: Mel Gibson

Weapon of choice: Scottish claymore

Skinny: Leads a revolt against a tyrant king (Edward I) who killed his family. He also beds the future Queen of England and spits out poison so he can endure torture (emboweling) instead of taking the coward's way out. Total beast.

Best line: "Freedom!"

1. Conan

Film: Conan the Barbarian (1982)

Portrayed by: Who else but Arnold?

Weapon of choice: Atlantean Sword

Skinny: Barbarian on a quest for revenge after his family and village are wiped out (notice a theme here?) by a band of warriors led by a shape-shifting cult leader.

Best line: (After being asked what is best in life...) "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women."
