Mike Trout Wins AL Player of the Month: June

Mike Trout has won the American League Player of the Month for the month of June

Los Angeles Angels outfielder, Mike Trout, has won the American League Player of the Month for June.

Trout, 22, had a slash of .361/.471/.759 over the month of June with seven home runs, 10 doubles, 21 runs batted in, and 20 runs scored.

Trout has had success over the month of June his entire career, with a career slash .363/.444/.596, over the month of June. That includes 27 stolen bases, 52 runs batted in, 13 home runs, 28 doubles, and 62 runs scored.

Many criticized the voters for not voting Angels pitcher, Garrett Richards for American League Pitcher of the Month, who had a 1.05 earned run average, 0.90 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts over 34.1 innings pitched, which also included a perfect four wins to no losses record.

Richards was beat out by Seattle Mariners' ace, Felix Hernandez, who recorded a three wins and one loss record, with a 1.22 earned run average, 0.72 WHIP, and sat down 54 by way of the K over 44.1 innings pitched.
