Angels Top 100 Prospect Countdown

Last year, we busted out the first edition of our "40 Days, 40 Nights, 40 Angels Prospects Countdown." This year, we have something we think you'll like just a little bit more.

Last year, whipped out a top 40 prospect list with our inaugural prospect countdown and "40 Days, 40 Nights, 40 Angels Prospects Countdown." This year we have something a little different that you may like just a tad bit more.

Without any further delay, announces it's first ever "Top 100 Angels Prospects Countdown"

ONE HUNDRED? Oh yes! looks for ways to give you the best insight on what the future may hold for the Los Angeles Angels, and what better way than to give you information on not 20, not 40, not 50, but ONE HUNDRED Angels prospects.

Beginning Thursday, November 20th, and ending Thursday, February 12th, we will begin our top 100 Angels prospects countdown of 2015 decided by staff, starting with number 100 and counting down to ONE. publisher Taylor Blake Ward sat down with contributors from every affiliate, and invited a large group of friends to take a look at every single prospect, and put together the largest list of Angels prospects possible. With the help of broadcasters, Angels minor league coaching staffs, scouts, teammates, and Angels Front Office members, we have created our list and are ready to give you an in depth look at each prospect we selected.

The original idea began with's St. Louis Cardinals site,, and it's publisher, Brian Walton. Walton gave us an idea he's used for years and gave us permission at the beginning of the 2014 off-season to borrow his idea and create our very own, "40 Days, 40 Nights, 40 Prospects," countdown. For Brian, it was his ninth edition and will continue his trend this off-season with his tenth installation of the Cardinals 40 Prospects Countdown. We began last year, and received strong acceptance from you, the readers.

Qualifications for the prospect list exclude players who have surpassed their MLB Rookie Designation (130+ at bats/50+ innings pitched; or an accumulated 45+ days on the active roster of the Angels Major League club). This means you will not see names such as Mike Morin or Efren Navarro on the prospect list.

NOTE : All prospects signed after November 10th will not be considered in the final countdown. That includes players traded for over off-season and international prospects signed.

Each prospect article will have a scouting report, statistical breakdown, and what is expected of them in the immediate future. What better way to learn and know about the prospects in the Angels farm system than an article dedicated strictly to them?

Some of the articles posted will be Premium Articles. If you are not yet a subscriber to, you can join today for as little as $7.95 after our seven-day FREE trial, and will be able to read all articles, including exclusive content year-round.

We at love hearing your opinions. That's why our free message boards are available to all, and there will be a new thread for each prospect, every day, where you can debate our opinions and express your own (any profanity or expletive content will be removed immediately).

After hours of phone calls, texts, Twitter messages, Facebook messages, and all kinds of other forms of whatever it was, friends of InsideTheHalos our correspondents came together with a proper system of how votes would be counted.

If a voter voted a specific player first, they would receive one point, second got two, and so on, and so on. The player with the least amount of points, would receive the higher position (similar to golf scores).

After all list were combined, 137 players were brought to the attention of our list, meaning some prospects would not make the cut.

We hope you enjoy the off-season, and learning more about the prospects we saw as the "best" in the Angels farm system. Remember, each day will have a new thread in the message boards, so feel free to openly debate how you feel about each prospect and our decision.
