The Owlz were obviously the best team throughout the first month of Pioneer League play. Orem lead the league in nearly every offensive category, lead the league in defense, and were among leaders in pitching while playing in an offensive friendly ballpark. Orem is looking to take this play all the way through the season and win a Pioneer League title come September.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Kyle Survance, Outfielder

Survance not only hit safely in all 10 games he played in with Orem in June, but he was able to put multiple hits in the box score seven of those 10 times. Survance finished June going 13-for-26 in his final five games of May. Survance became a nuisance on the basepaths as well, stealing nine bases over the month as well. Survance posted impressive statistics in all aspects, with defense, power, speed, but the one that stood out to us was his three strikeouts in 50 plate appearances, showing his ability to make consistent contact (that goes with the 2.1 hits per game).

PITCHER OF THE MONTH: Ronnie Glenn, Left-Handed Reliever

Every pitcher had a small sample size in June, but Glenn stood out from all the sample sizes. In seven and one/third innings pitched, Glenn allowed just four base runners on two hits and two walks. This all came while he struck out 10 of the 25 batters he faced, and held bats to a .087/.160/.087 slash over the month of June.
