Angels Make Front Office and Coaching Moves

Angels make multiple moves in Front Office and coaching staff, hiring new Assistant General Manager, moving base coaches and Minor League coaches and signing a left-handed reliever.

Late Tuesday, and mid-day Wednesday, the Los Angeles Angels announced multiple moves to their Front Office and coaching staff.

Sportsradio 66 WFAN reported that Steve Martone has been hired as an Assistant General Manager for the Angels, below Billy Eppler.

Martone has been with the New York Yankees organization since 2007, wearing multiple hats, most recently, as Manager of Pro Scouting.

The team announced the moves of Gary DiSarcina from third-base coach to first-base coach, as well as the return of Ron Roenicke as third-base coach. The team also announced that first-base coach, Alfredo Griffin would move to infield coach, and bullpen coach, Steve Soliz, has been named the catching and information coach.

Sources close to Scout.com, confirmed that roving infield instructor, Keith Johnson, would return to Triple-A Salt Lake as the manager. High-A manager, Denny Hocking, will take over Johnson's responsibilities. The Angels also added a pitching coach to their Arizona League affiliate, in former prospect, Jonathan Van Eaton.

In relatable news, Gonzalez reported the signing of left-handed pitcher, Lucas Leutge. Leutge, 28, has a career 4.35 ERA and .567 OPS against left-handed hitters, following four seasons with the Seattle Mariners.
